After you watch the special, you realize that dylan wasnt a man of the left in the pete seeger sense. I always thought the weatherman verse was directed at that left wing group--you dont need some lefty to tell/interpet for you--your own eyes and ears are good enough. That was a problem bob had with the doctrinaire left. And politics is a part of the human condition not the whole thing. I consider myself a progressive and i find progressive views in both liberal and conservative places. I loved the self reliance theme cons gave us. I also believe in leveling the playing field as much as you can without trading freedoms and rights. Thats why i piss off both left and right and take such delight in doing so. The new third party should be called the Eclectic Progressive Party or the EPP. Wanna join?
