Thats what THEY say. Be careful of who they is. Was there really demand destruction or was this another fabrication? I'm dead serious, you cannot believe what you hear these days from the MSM.

In my opinion there will be no demand destruction at all, even at 100.00 because it is not an elective to drive or not and it is not the USA that decides this anymore as most other countries are using as much oil or more than the USA. You must get over the myopia of thinking the world centers around what goes on in the USA, it doesn't anymore. Demand destruction, if there is any, is not a threat to maintaining higher prices IMO.

I think everyone should run out and by a SUV so that they can make fewer trips to the stores. With a SUV a person can carry more stuff and more people. A person who owns a small car makes 5 times as many trips as the person with a SUV and therefore uses much more petrol. I demand the destruction of small fuel efficient tin cans on wheels as the extra trips drivers of them make burning much extra fuel and they are jamming up our highways because of all the additional trips they need to make.
