"You asked what leads people to think that they support the WOT... Well, what evidence is there that they don't.. The question goes both ways."

Yep, Suma, it sure does go both ways. The question I asked was in response to your second question asked previously. <GGG> I kinda think I'm chasing my tail! <G>

It seems that the population of the US is like a jury, and there are competing and antagonistic "sides" to every little thing that comes up, whether it is a woman who drowns her kids in a bathtub or how the gov't gathers information for its own ends.

So, the NYT is fine, so long as it is balanced with the Post. CBS news needs Fox News to complete the picture. Your comment That is why it is too bad when persons read or listen to only one side is spot on. That is also why I read these posts.

That we agree or disagree on any particular issue being reported and HOW it is reported is less important than discussing it, IMO. I tak great exception to some of the things done by the NYT and CBS News; others have the same dislike for Rush and Fox News. So long as we have to defend our positions in fora like this, at least we are thinking critically, regardless of our respective positions.
