If I were to accept you premise that the majority of the country doesn't want us to just pull out, then why is Lieberman having such a tough time.


Lieberman is having such a tough time because he's running in a Democratic primary, not a general election.

Chinu....the Prime Minister is a Shia and he is approved by the TOP Shia religious leader in Iraq. Neither one of those people have said that they want the US out or the US to set a timetable for withdrawal.

I think the Kurds would vote about 90% that they want us there.

I think if you polled the Sunnis in Baghdad that aren't associated with the insurgency I think they would want us to stay too.

Lieberman is having a hard time because not that many people vote in primaries and the people that do usually have a rather more skewed agenda than the average voter.
