<Desert Storm was a unilateral attack> No even close -- the UN had every right to repel the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait -- it is illegal for one country to invade another. Defending a country that his been invaded is not a unilateral attack. The UN also had the right to invade Iraq if necessary. That is why the US worked so hard to try to spoof the world into believing Iraq was a threat. When the world saw us invade unilaterally, and then when the world realized that we had bullcrapped them in the first place, then it became obvious to all that we are dishonest people and we abuse our power -- just as Saddam abused his power. We lowered ourselves to his level. Then we just kept sinking lower and lower, with secret prisons, kidnapping, wrongful imprisonment and torture -- we became more and more like the people we said we could not allow to exist. By embracing the moral and poltical bankruptcy of the policies you promoted we lost our credibility and can no longer claim to be defenders of freedom, democaracy and the rule of law. You put a knife through the heart of America.
