I think it's clear "who started it" is a useless exercise.

Nice try, but you can't duck out this one. Israel started it on both fronts, unquestionably.

Israel kidnapped two Palestinian civilians in Gaza on June 24, which led the Palestinians to kidnap an Israeli soldier.

On May 26, Israel assassinated a senior Jihad member, Mahmoud al-Majzub, in Lebanon. This led Hezbollah to kidnap two Israeli soldiers.

The finishing touches would be 1. waste southern Lebanon, empty it & bring their water into Israel 2. kill half the males in the Gaza & starve out the rest 3. finish that fence.
What a neighbor these assholes are. No wonder they need religion & the holoucost to defend their evil doings. Poor Israel has the right to defend itself...i.e. lay waste to its neighbors.

Today in Iraq

"There are some who, uh, feel like that, you know, the conditions are such that they can attack us there. My answer is: Bring 'em on. We got the force necessary to deal with the security situation. “ - George W. Bush, July 2, 2003.
