During war there are things that are done to obtain information that many people should not be aware of, you must be one of those people. Thats why the military is seperate from the civilian office holders.

The military is trained to make judgements that civilians would never be able to make.
That is also why we have places like Abu Ghraib prison which are under military guidance not civilian. And with the computer age we have seen the information that should be kept confidential, put out into public forums for debate.

I too am against torture especially if it was done against me or my family, friends, relatives.
