Putin and Chiraq obviously have other opinions about whether Israel bears blame in its motives

Aside from Putin whose country has harassed and subjugated the Jews for centuries, and the Chiraq whose country's record is one of handing the Jews over for the furnaces, most countries blamed Hizbollah and Hamas. What did you want Israel to do, exactly? If you were kidnapped wouldn't you want Canada to make it's best efforts to make sure no one cut your head off?

I agree that Israel is going a tad overboard, but I think that the Muslims have created the kind of Israel that Muslims deserve. Frankly I have done business with a lot of Jewish People who were Canadian born. Some of them I really enjoyed the opportunities to make money with them. But, I have also done business with Israeli born Jews. Never met people I disliked more. but I think the Leaders of the Arab States have worked to make Israel into what it is, they deserve what they are going to get.

give it up - here's what you wrote about Harper;
Harper:
"Responsibility for the escalating violence in the Middle East rests entirely with those who have kidnapped Israeli soldiers"

here are the second and third sentences from the G8:

In Gaza, elements of Hamas launched rocket attacks against Israeli territory and abducted an Israeli soldier. In Lebanon, Hizbollah, in violation of the Blue Line, attacked Israel from Lebanese territory and killed and captured Israeli soldiers, reversing the positive trends that began with the Syrian withdrawal in 2005, and undermining the democratically elected government of Prime Minister Fuad Siniora.

Harper said exactly what was said in the communique. no Hamas or Hizbollah provocation, no escalating violence.
