They are doing what they have done on the WB and Gaza. Attacking the PA while battling militants is understandable because they enable the violence by sitting on their hands, but unproductive. Each new round of violence on either border adds to the hatred. Doing nothing while you are attacked in your own land by folks who have amassed 10,000 rockets is unacceptable too. When you say they will either "fish or cut bait" i assume what you mean by "fishing" is a WW2 outcome, collateral damage be damned. And in those terms and given the times in which we live, they will as you say probably cut bait. I am not sure that from purely an israeli security consideration that they should do that as they already have made the new enemies anyway. Maybe hizbollah needs to be dismantled as a lesson to hamas, not to mention syria and even iran.
