I listened to a great debate on NPR today on the Dianne Rheem show between former General William Odom and Max Boot of the Council on Foreign Relations. Odom believes we should withdraw from Iraq ASAP and begin negotiating with Iran about our common interests in the area:

Iran doesn't like the Taliban, we don't like the Taliban.
Iran wants to sell oil, we want to buy oil.
Let Iran HAVE a nuke, but remind them that Israel and/or we could glass them over.

Boot, a neocon, wants to "stay the course".
