AK2004......"anyways, lets not say arabs in general. Arabs in general would include those who brainwash their own young brothers and sisters to blow themselves up on Israeli buses. Arabs in general would also include those who want to live in peace.

I feel that the 1st group is not human. The 2nd group is a different story. But I also believe that while the 1st group exists there could be no peace
".....

I feel that of both groups the vast majority are muslims?

So lets say the first group...the non human ones.... appear to be winning or do win this war. I wonder which side the second group....the peaceful ones.... would follow?

Would they the second group say to the first group... you can't do that to our christian brothers and fellow humans and fight on our side?

Would you also believe that the Israeli army, and Israeli citizens as well have at various points done very bad things to Arab people, and that the Israeli government has frequently been in violation of international law?

"The Fourth Geneva Convention (1949) is a cornerstone of international humanitarian law that ensures minimum protections for civilians in armed conflict and occupation. It forbids, among other things: the construction of settlements on occupied land, unilateral annexation, willful killing of civilians, collective punishment, torture, and the destruction of property without a compelling military reason."

Would you believe that many Jews believe that peace will only arrive as a result of actions of goodwill and that enemies and extremists are created rather than destroyed when there are attempts to impose peace simply through belligerent brute force? These Jews are at the top of my list for the Jews I think need and deserve a lot of support from non-Jews.

As a Christian, would you believe that Christianity is supposed to include principles that all humans are equal, and that Jesus said something about "turning the other cheek"? I think I've heard about a bumper sticker that says "Who would Jesus Bomb"? Have you got an answer for that?

Having said all that, I'd like to point out that I am not an Arab, a Jew, a Muslim, religiously oriented, involved in partisan politics, or even interested in spending a lot of time in debate over contentious issues like this. I just feel very strongly that Canadians and their government should be constructive towards peace in the Middle East and the world, and that we have a reputation to uphold. That means opposing unnecessary violence and escalation of hatred, as if there wasn't enough hatred around already. Appropriate behaviour of the Canadian government, in supporting core values of peace and justice-loving Canadians, would include refusing to condone the bombing of civilian infrastructure and the killing of many innocent people because two soldiers were kidnapped by a radical group.

Would you belive the irony of the fact that Hezbollah was created as a result of resistance to Israel's invasion of Lebanon in 1982, and that although Israel's awesome military machine did not destroy it in 20 years of occupation, they demand that the weak Lebanese government destroy it immediately at their request? Are we going around in ever-widening circles of violence and stupidity here?
