You're dreaming. ( I thought the wik was a left wing plot :>)
It ain't that easy. Earth is not a cornucopia. Remember EROEI; Energy return On Energy invested. The closest thing out there to a silver bullet is conservation. The second closest thing is the mothership, the Sun. Not just photons and infra-red rays heating bathwater; drives everything; rain, wind, photosynthesis.

One biofuel plan which is looking good...
Message 22576676

Where biofuel discussions are at the moment; is it moral to let somebody starve so you can drive your car on corn?
Latest, but there are lots which explore this.

I think Chavez's use of the oil money is better than what came before but I agree that it would be better simply given to the citizens for their own use.

Since most of them are poor, it would be used immediately to boost the overall economy although having cheap energy doesn't hurt either. It would be far better than the Republican transfer of money from the middle class to their ultra wealthy cronies, don't you agree?

I said that Pickens has a horse in this race so he has reason to talk up peak oil as do the Bushes, the Saudis, the Iranians, the bin Ladens, Chavez and the Canadians.

Unlike YOU I do not discount knowledge because of political support although about 99% of the time support for Bush is based on lack of knowledge and sheer idiocy. Pickens is an oil man supporting Bush because he knew Bush would raise oil prices....Pickens was correct.

Pickens said he went bankrupt about 3-4 times and become a millionaire after 70. He's nothing if not persistent.

You're only looking at tail end production. Pickens was looking at the mismatch between production (peaked) and demand (growing with no end in sight). When demand is growing with no end in sight (China alone has 4-5 times as many people as we have) and we're scraping mayo from the bottom of the jar sane people can see that we have a problem.

It's rather pathetic that oil, having taken millions of years to develop, may come and go in about 200 years.
