Ichy, I think that the threat to Jewish people, although real, is extremely exaggerated. The Israeli army is in absolutely no threat from anyone. Their neighbours are weaker and their army is stronger than ever before -- so strong in comparison that it is almost a joke. While barbaric terrorist attacks are a possibility, and it's not like they are happening frequently, one can only think that killing and enraging huge swaths of populations with actions like bombing Lebanon only make terrorist attacks more likely in the future.
