For the Arab/Jewish issues you must go back to Abraham's sons Ishmael and Issac...

So when is acceptance for ones neighbor become a reality ? When does life become something more than teaching hate and living in misery ?

That Arabs were more accepting of Jews prior to the influx and establishment of a state, which was largely forced on the Arab world, not something of their own choosing. I.e. Arab hatred for Jews is largely linked to land issues.

I wonder how many of them had problems with the British and French imposing states upon them ruled by rival tribal chieftains, or even foreign tribes (Hashemites in Jordan)??

I mean.. can you show me one Arab state that neighbors, or is in the vicinity of, Israel which previously existed prior to 1917?

And I know that the Copts of Egypt, or the Druze and Christians of Lebanon, Syria, and Palestine, didn't really prefer to have the existing governments foisted upon them..

Thus, I still contend that the prevalent hostility of Arabs versus Israel is more a manifestation of the concerted effort of those Arab governments to deflect attention and internal dissent from their own illegitimacy, and focus it upon Israel.

Thus, it's MORE than merely land issues.

That is true and yet it doesn't mean what you think you are saying.

It's sort of like saying that Southern plantation owners were much more accepting of blacks before the Civil War than after the Civil war; the rise of racist organizations after the war was largely linked to emancipation issues.

That seems an odd formulation to us because we know that however fine race relations seemed to the antebellum plantation owners, they were far, far from fine as far as the black enslaved population was concerned.

Well, the same holds true for the status of Jews throughout most of the Middle East before 1948. It wasn't just that Arabs become more hostile to them after 1948; it was that finally they had an alternative to staying & being treated like 3rd class citizens.
