Fine. Communists were in the USA for as long as communism existed. Would you accept the secession of communist Red Jersey from the USA in 1948, My dear Boy, Elroy.. Your logic is dysfunction and the analogy irrelevant to the current situation in the Mid-East.. EVERY NATION IN THE MID-EAST.. And I mean ALL of those nations immediately surrounding Israel and its general vicinity DID SECEDE from the Ottoman Turkish Empire. The British and French STRIPPED the Ottoman Empire of its territory as a punishment for siding with Germany and Austria-Hungary.. Thus, Israel is just ONE OF MANY STATES that "seceded" from the remnants of that empire. NOW IF, and I say IF, you were referring the Ottoman empire still existing and Israel seceded from it, you might have an argument. But as you currently present it, it's ridiculous and completely ignorant of the history of that region. One other thing. As ALL OF THAT LAND BELONGED to its Ottoman ruler, the Sultan, NONE of those arguments about land are truly pertinent. Because the Arab inhabitants of the region had no more historical claim to "ownership" of that land than anyone else. They certainly didn't have any land deeds from the Ottoman Sultan, unless they were one of his favored Pashas, charged with overseeing the outer provinces of the Ottoman empire. Now.. let's move on and don't bother me with this illogical tripe any longer. Hawk

You wouldn't accept communist Red Jersey, why do you expect the Muslims to accept Jewish Israel? A more realistic real world comparison might be to Taiwan vs main land China. There too, the Chinese are constrained from taking over Taiwan yet they do not accept it. BUT the difference with the Arab countries is that China has not held its own development for the last 50 years hostage to the "great, central mainland-Taiwan crisis" the way Arabs have done regarding Israel. They have basically told their population to give up on economic development or political liberalization and concentrate only on Israel/Palestine.
