Let's see - we should allow gay marriage, polygamous marriage, group marriage, incestuous marriage - but watch out for those "normal" families - they are a problem.

Yes, sexual abuse may well exist mostly in "normal" families. That is because those are the type of families we generally have as opposed to the type mentioned above.

If you are really worried about children and sexual molestation ..

Nice subtle questioning of my motives there. Oh well.

It seems to me that 20 or 30 years ago, no one would have anticipated that a movement promoting gay marriage would be a major moral cause in our society. Nor would anyone have anticipated that the Boy Scouts would be attacked for not allowing gay scout leaders and often barred from using public facilities. Yet those things have happened.

The rationale in both cases seems to be that not allowing any couple who wants to to marry or be a scout leader is discriminatory.

How do we know that in 20 years, some people (the same kinds of people who have a problem with the BSA not allowing gay scout leaders) will decide that its discriminatory to not allow young people aka children, make "informed consent"?
