Despite the other stuff I post here I think Israel is entirely justified in blowing the hell out of Hezbollah. No sane country is going to let a hostile army casually attack it while it simultaneously builds a larger and larger arsenal on its border.

As to whether the level of force is appropriate, not being a military officer, I have no idea. How can a civilian watching TV (like most of the posters here) know what is or is not required to destroy a hostile army on foreign soil?

You are way off base -- the best self-defense is not to bomb Lebanon back into the 12th century. The best defense for Israel is to not bomb Lebanon. And the best thing for both the US and Israel is for the US to condemn the Israeli killing of civilians as well as condemning the killing of Israelis.

Right-e-o. Killing hundreds of civilians, displacing a million people, making a mockery of democracy, reducing what others have built to rubble and then hemming and hawing on destroying Hezbollah (we really didn't mean it so ignore what we've been saying these past two weeks) really does the world a favor.

Wow, I don't know where your head is but it doesn't matter since your soul has left you.
