When Clinton supplied support for the muslims of Bosnia it marginalized Al Qaeda in the region. To an extent perhaps, but that's far from sure. Al Qaeda tried to play a big role in the region but it never was a large factor. Also Clinton supporting the Muslim Bosnians was far from the only time that the US has acted to defend Muslims from attack. Our original involvement in Afghanistan was another case, as was the Gulf War.
