No capital gains tax if I invest in Australia when resident in NZ. Capital gains tax if invest in USA. I think USA should talk to NZ government about the nasty attitude that shows to the USA and adjust tariffs against New Zealand products accordingly if Helengrad goes ahead with such discriminatory penalties against the USA.

What matters is the investment destination, not which broker holds the shares on my behalf.
