I don't think people should be scout leaders if they don't have a child in the troop. That's all there is to it. I think the girl scouts may actually have that requirement. When childlessness becomes a protected class, I'll give it a rethink- but since there is choice with childlessness, and there isn't with the other protected classes, I can't say I'm going to worry about it too much.
