You clowns know enough to realize the ramp is exponential in the first 2 quarters, you better pray that was 1 million in less than 10 weeks since launch of conroe and not woodcrest.

Remember "Elmer" getting all exciting about 2 million Coppermines a week from Chandler, AZ? And that was an 8" fab.

It was 1 million in 1 week and that was at the hight of production. Why would you think 1 million in 10 weeks is hard to achieve? The 65nm process has been shipping for revenue since last year. There are 4 300mm Fabs. Do the math... A 143mm2 die should yield about 300 GDPW if Intel has excellent yields. To get 1 million in 10 weeks that's ~3500 wafers if you factor in back end yields as well. that's only 350 wafers a week potentially spread over 4 Fabs. Why would anyone doubt that?

The real question here is, who is going to but a power hungry, under performing Opteron when they can buy a Conroe instead? Or a Merom or a WoodCrest? That should concern you if you are long AMD shares.
