"Maybe they can get Turkey to cooperate, as a NATO member, from the north." That would be easy. Just tell Turkey they can annex northern Iraq and snuff out any possibility of an independent Kurdistan. Did I mention that Turkey has over a quarter million troops on the Iraqi border? And that they have been complaining about cross border attacks from Iraq? And all their talk about an "escalating crisis" that will "force them to take action"? Hmmm....
