Who are you kidding? What is "multi-ethnic" about an Arab state? Arabs consistently have displayed intolerance towards other ethnicities, whether Kurdish, Persian, or Copts.

We're not talking about Arab states, we're talking the region where Israel-Palestine is located, especially the area near Jerusalem. Like Lebanon today, it has throughout recorded history been "multi-ethnic". Stay on topic.

If we want to discuss ethnic states, then ask yourself why almost ever mid-east country surrounding Israel has "Arab" in its name?

Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and Eqypt? Maybe you know their full names better than I do, but I have no idea what you are talking about here....

And Arabs also believe that their "ethnicity" is divided along two primary tribal lines.. al-Qahtani (southern tribe) and Al-Adnani (Nortern tribes).., with the Qatani peceiving themselves as being "purer" and generally disdaining to anyone from the Adnani tribe. I understand that the Qahtani do not like to intermarry with Adnanis. Thus, we can see there is not much tolerance even within Arab society for "diversity".

No one is holding up the Arabs as a model of anything here. There countries have plenty of problems that need to be addressed. They do tend to be tribal, as do the people of much of Africa. Bashing Arabs is like shooting fish in a barrel, what's the point?

It all depends on perspective Elroy. The Arabs might resent a non-Arab state in their midst, but perhaps the world should equally resent the creation of racist Arab states in the midst of a multi-cultural world.

Absolutely we might. I generally agree with your criticisms. OK, so what?
