Yes, but I believe that Olmert has placed excessive reliance on air power with the result that it's backfiring in his face.

I'm particularly suspicious of this latest incident where Israel bombed a car full of Lebanese Army officers which were thought to be Hezbollah leaders. I wonder if this based on a phoned in "tip" supplied by Hezbolloh? The same thing happened to us in Afghanistan, where tribal leaders suckered us into bombing their rivals with phony tips that the targets were Taliban or al qaeda fighters.

Is impossible to wage a war against a terrorist group imbedded within the civilian population and not harm the population. I see Israel actually bombed a Lebanese ARMY BASE and killed three soldiers. Reason given is Hezbollah had offices etc ON THIS BASE. Why the army would allow this is beyond my understanding if Lebanon is truly seperate from Hezbollah. jdn
