Give the local community something to live for.

Well, then, you neglected to give the local community it's 100 billion. There's nothing in your give-away that helps Hezobollah's community unless you expect that the salaries of the peacekeepers will trickle down to them.

Exactly.

Not all Lebanese were for Hezbollah.. There was reasonableness there and 25.000 Americans who called it the Paris of the Middle East.

Now, we have alienated the people and who knows how many will not only support Hezbollah but join them.

When we were children we learned that more was gotten with honey than vinegar.. Things sound over simplified by these examples but had we given more internal support to the needs of the people rather than attacking a portion that was not all that popular.....

Israel has so many political factions they probably could not have done this. If the U.S could have done anything it might have been to win the hearts and minds of the people and make negotiating more palatable..

The Arabs only see us as supporting Israel.. We could have proved differently... not by turning against Israel but
in helping with their internal needs.
