Actually WMT has usually lowered the living standards of their employees due to the fact the big box retailer has forced so many manufacturers to close their businesses or move their workers former jobs to China. In addition, WMT encourages their employees to take advantage of gov social services, thereby expecting taxpayers to subsidize their business, rather than provide for the needs of their underpaid workers.
