Nadine.....with all due respect, I read the op-ed completely and all I see is another and very wordy attempt to make your 'war' our war. Personally, I don't think 9/11 would have occured but for Israel. You must think the Arab world can't read...that they don't know the largesse of this country and some in Europe keep Israel, whose debt exceeds its GDP, afloat. You must think the Arab world isn't alarmed that we have armed tiny little Israel with over 400 military aircraft and 76 warships. I can't even imagine the impotent rage the Arab world feels watching Israel ignore U.N. resolutions and continue encroaching on the land of its neighbors. What you don't realize, perhaps, is how ignorant the American public is when it comes to Israel? I certainly was before 9/11. But I guarantee that this barbarism in Lebanon will cause more and more Americans to read the history of the mideast. At what point does changing opinion in this country reach critical masse and cause the electorate in this country to ask the question I asked you earlier: What is the quid pro quo?

That's exactly backwards Nadine. Goliath is Israel, with the large fancy high tech American equipped military, IRBMs and nukes. Hezbollah is David, this time, chucking it's ineffective rockets.
