And as far as Senators are concerned, all the votes end up in one big bucket.

Huh? Please don't post to me when you're smoking weed.

Honeychile, the votes for US Senators IN ALL THE STATES end up in onee big bucket. Senators are elected by popular vote statewide. (They used to be elected by state legislators. The Constitution fails to specify the method of chossing Senators and this was once the universal method). Sorry for your ignorance, but you are ignorant on this subject. And I did not say both Senators will be chosen in the same election; they won't be. The other will have been chosen in a separate election either 2 years earlier or in an election 2 years later.

Maybe YOU'D better put that roach down.

That's right......CA is a big state and you probably don't live anywhere near LA.
Which has what to do with what? The northern (actually north and central) parts of the state are even more liberal than the south. The south used to be conservative, but has now suffered the reconquista.
