Elroy, to be democratic a country has to count the votes of all parties and respect the rights of the minority. If the minority thinks the majority will vote to exterminate it, "democracy" will fail in an instant.

America has 300 million people. Canada has 30 million people. By your logic, if America decides to vote to wipe out the Canadians and take over Canada, that would be a proper and democratic decision.

I do not think Arab democracy will prove any kind of a panacea for Arab political pathologies. But if they can get a free press, the wall of lies that most Arabs are surrounded with begins to break down. Even in Iraq, bad as the situation is, you can see the support for Al Qaeda and conspiracy/victimhood theories are breaking down.
