I agree with most of that. My followup question for you is if the iraq gambit had worked, and there was a functioning federal democracy in place a year or two later, would you admit to being wrong? I do admit being wrong about that policy although part of me still says that with better management in iraq post war, we might have achieved our goals. Folks on the left and the right here refuse to admit mistakes. I am less afraid of that than others because FP is like baseball and even a good batting average requires the making of many outs. Folks here let pride into the equation.
