Greatest Trick Devil Ever Pulled?

I don't buy the CONSPIRACY part...

What conspiracies do you Buy - are there any you give credible weight too? Have you read a candle in the darkness - are you a critical thinker and very skeptical of the world around you?

I also think many conspiracies can be explained away by simple human error or laziness or one or 2 corrupt people - but not a lot of people all working in unison. BUt I want to know what big conspiracies you do accept. I watched a movie called the INSIDER about tobacco companies - do you buy that conspiracy or is that fantasy? Also Enron - do you side with Lay that it was just beyond anyone to see all the macro craziness like YanivBa is talking about with all this CDS sillyness - just too big - or was there a real conspiracy there to bilk grandma millie in california energy prices? Do you buy this conspiracy crap Phil talks about with wall street - after all it was a small university professor that found all this backdating options criminality - not the people really paid to do so in the SEC eh? Anthony@Pacific right here on SI is gonna do a lot of jailtime for being corrupt too eh?

Professor Black wrote a book about greenspan and the S%L bailout and the big banking conspiracy - he was full of himself eh?

Abramoff - that was just a nice guy trying to help his indian friends - no grand conspiracy there eh?

Bush is claimed to have railroaded over anyone who contradicted his beliefs on WMD in Iraq - that is just a simple error eh - not a conspiracy.

I meet a lot of skeptics who don't believe in ANY large conspiracy or racket - they just don't think things can grow that big without more people catching on - their naive viewpoint is what I watched in a movie called USUAL SUSPECTS - no one believed in the devil until he had a loaded gun aimed between thier eyeballs pulling the trigger - I think the real question I want to ask you is with all this other CORRUPTION and CRIMINALITY surrounding you up to your eyeballs - why in the world do you believe its not possible or even likely?

Hell Even the great Jedi Yoda didn't discover the evil sith lord until it was too late - hehe. Luke took it pretty hard when he discovered the truth about his father!

I have to admit, the very first thought I had when BP shut down their pipeline was Enron; and how BP could probably make more money without the oil than with it.

I read an interesting thing in the Seattle Times today, where one person in Seattle (from a voluntarily carless family) wondered why nobody even dares suggest that our oil-addicted culture simply use 3% less oil to compensate for the pipeline shutdown. For his family, it would involve a "sacrifice" of driving 1 mile less per day. Other families, harder hit, might have to drive 2 or 3 miles less. Wow... that sounds so un-American, how dare he suggest such a drastic change in our lifestyle!
