Physical gold has a more mundane problem, how does one get holders of goods that one wants to accept that the gold one offers is really of the certified purity and weight?

I once bought a 2 1/2 foot five inch deep "copper" pot that rusted away. <g>

Things are going to get ugly. Owning no gold or anything of value might keep some of the bad guys at bay if they are not more interested in killing you because of what you believe or don't believe.

But right before things get that bad, holders of gold are apt to get very rich. At least for a fleeting instant.
