Ted, You really don't get the picture, do you? How often do I hear about all of the billions of dollars America spends on war when we could be spending it on social services, health care, poverty, etc.? I'm pretty sure Israel spends billions of dollars on their own defense, not to mention however much they spend occupying the West Bank. Is that cost dwarfed by the cost of desalinization? Probably not, especially given that the population of Israel is small compared to other desert nations. For the life of me, I will never understand how the US got into this predicament. Sounds like willful ignorance on your part. If I can understand it, so can you, unless you don't think traditional ethnic, cultural, and religious ties should matter at all. Tenchusatsu
