It is very important talk to potential enemies. Talking costs us nothing and byu talking we are able to get valuable intel and find common ground. Nixon, Reagan, Bush Sr., James Baker, all the best Republican statesmen all did this.

Bushies made a huge blunder by delivering the simple-minded "Axis Of Evil" speech then refusing to talk to any of our potential foes. Iran and North Korea would be far less dangerous to us now if Bushies had done some basic diplomacy. They also could have avoided the invasion of Iraq this way, but they didn't want to avoid it.

All that talking did not prevent 9/11. All those deals did not prevent 9/11. There is a time to talk. After 9/11 that time was over. People have talked to Korea and to Iran, but they want cash from the US, they want to be bribed into not building nuclear weapons, and they are not smart enough to stay bought. The problems with Korea started when the US lost the war, just as the problems with Iran started when the students took over the US Embassy. When the Embassy was attacked, the US should have given Iran 24 hours to leave the embassy. and then they should have bombed a straight line across Iran to the embassy clearing every obstacle in the way of a straight path out of the city.

This is great rhetoric, but the Muslim Killers they just arrested are British Citizens of Pakistani origin. Who would George Bush have talked to in this case? The British PM? The Pakistani PM? There is no one, just like the 18 young Killers we arrested in Canada, They decided Canada was being cruel to them, and they were going to murder everyone on the Toronto Stock exchange. Who is it you want to talk to? These are privileged kids with good educations, lots of food, and cars and the life of any Canadian. And they were going to murder Canadians just for the heck of it.

No remove them from the country, with no passport and no right to ever return. Put their names, pictures, fingerprints and dna in an international registry and ban them from entering any western country ever.
