"You want services, you need to pay for them."

Certainly, but you must have system where the folks giving the services perform, unlike the teachers vis a vis ghetto schools.

Are you a socialist? If you ever were a Trekkie, in Generations they talk about a moneyless society with by each according to ablity to each according to their need. But thats hundreds of years off along with pacifism. Somewhere down the line our great, great grandkids will live in a world at peace and sans money which along with religion is the root of all evil. smoked alot of dope, met my future wife and the following summer got married on woodstock weekend. By 1972, i voted for Nixon

I think we can all agree that those were the strangest and best of times. Lots of change, tons of idealism, lots of great debates, the craziest parties..........then reality hit...... I too voted for Nixon. If Nixon had never been involved in Watergate he would have gone down as a pretty good president.
