Sure it could do that again. In fact there was all kinds of data that pointed to serious PPT intervention ( ok Freep have your laught) not just M3 expanding greatly. By the way anyone have a better idea why the Fed now hids the M3 number now, some think so it will be harder to see when they interven.

I have read some very interesting pieces by very learned men on some interesting theories around the issue of hiding the M3 numbers, and top on the list is the Fed being concerned they will have to expand it greatly to try and avert a crash in the very near future and not wanting the HUGE expansion to totally freak out the general public.

So yes its a very serious thing to consider when shorting the markets.
