... perhaps for the same reasons the USA invested in British debt paper back in the days of industrial revolution, which then got recycled back as British equity investment back in Americas?

When you spoke of Investment, I was figuring infrastructure, factories, or, gad, even shopping malls and residences, although I suspected you might be talking about T-bills, but thought more sensibly.

As matters turned out, you are talking about T-bills!

We have a different take on what constitutes investments, as opposed to liquidity infusion for emergency room patient.
