The harm Mr. Bush can do is somewhat limited since he has very few troops to play with now, but I would expect him to learn no lessons from Iraq, or anything else, ever.

I have said that to myself. But Hersh's continuing articles on the struggles within the Bush administration to bomb Iran are more than disturbing on this score.

As the extent of the damage Bush has done to US interests by his invasion/occupation of Iraq (let alone to the ME itself) becomes clearer, I've often said to myself that we are beginning to know just how bad it is.

I'm changing my mind on that score. The Lebanon/Israeli business has made it worse. If the Bush folk tried anything vis a vis Iran, it would make it much, much worse.

It has always been clear that Mr. Bush doesn't learn from his "mistakes" because he never believes he made any.

GWB is a believer in the End Times Rapture.

Conflagration in the ME is welcomed by this crew.
