Israel is sitting on Arab land. This isn't entirely accurate. Israel is surrounded by what can be called "Arab land" (Egypt, Jordan), but there have been plenty of non-Arabs living there for centuries. It's sort of like Amsterdam is surrounded by Dutch people, but a huge percentage of Amsterdam's residents were born outside of Holland. Also, to be fair, I think much of Israel was a desertish wasteland before the Jews came and developed it beginning 100 years ago.
