My HP wide screen laptop is really nice. Took it out of the box, loaded up the software and haven't had a problem.

Oh, there was one issue de-conflicting Black Ice software to work right. But, overral a great computer.

Never had to call HP though...

My last three were Dells. Don't know what I would do if I had to buy now.

I hear that a lot now. My last three have been Dells, too. Fortunately, I won't need another for a few years so I can go to school off of everyone else. <g>

I've always thought Hewlett Packard products were practically bullet proof. Heck, my HP calculator that I've had for 25 years still functions perfectly, and most of the older products still do. The HP41CVs worked long after they were obsolete. I wrote many a program for them, and I could do work out in the woods that others had to send in for computer processing. In fact, I've never heard of an HP calculator going bad while in service.

But..

My daughter has (had) an HP laptop, and the letters wore off the keyboard a long time before she had to quit using it because something else broke. She says she would never buy another HP.
