It makes no difference that all evidence pointed the other way beforehand? This is like calling all physicists nefore Einstein before Einstein idiots because they weren't relativists. Or all before Bohr idiots because they didn't think in quantum mechanical terms. Are YOU an idiot or do you just play one on SI? You have to use what evidence you have. Saying somebody was wrong because they didn't fly in the face of all availaible evidence is itself idiotic.
