No need to shout about every day history. Why not.. people with your view don't seem to remember it, or deliberately ignore it. Just as you ignore the fact that when these countries were created, they either divided entire nations of people between various countries (the Kurds as one major example), or forced smaller ethnic groups to be subjugated to the racist ARAB "republics".. Because "Arabism" is just as racist and expanist as "Zionism". How would you like to be a Kurd living in an "ARAB" nation? A Coptic Christian in Egypt, living under Arab rule? A Maronite Christian living under Shi'ite rule? All of these ethnicities/creeds, pre-dated both the Ottoman Empire, as well as the Arab invasions over 1200 years ago. UN 1947: OK, we are guilty, lets steal some land from the arabs instead of accepting the Jews. No.. what you're REALLY saying is that Arabs have some kind of "RIGHT" to the land and the people's that inhabit it. Because land that belonged to one tribe was seized by another that had more "pull" with the League of Nations (the Hashemites, or Egypt's King Farouk are examples) in hopes of creating equanimity and order out of chaos of the collapsed Ottoman Empire. The ARABS WERE INVOLVED IN A LAND GRAB just as RACIST, if not more than can anything the Zionists were accused of!! The Arabs did not pay for the land they were given by the British and French administrators. They claimed it as some form of "birthright", by happening to be the predominant culture in the region. And they were the predominant culture in the region because they either forced the pre-existing ones to convert, or made conditions of the "dhimmis" so intolerable by taxation that they were forced to leave. In fact, upon the declaration of statehood by the Israelis in 1948, one of the primary AND RACIST ACTS by Arab governments throughout the Middle East was the RACIST DEPORTATIONS of Jews living under their rule, and the seizure of their lands WITH NO COMPENSATION. Almost 1 million Jews were send into refugee status as a result of these policies of RACIAL PURGING of non-arabs from "Arab states". And now it's difficult to find Jews living in any quantity in Arab countries. And certainly not to the extent that they were during the Ottoman Empire. The Arabs governments in the region are just as guilty of advancing the cause of "Arabism" as the Israelis are of advancing "Zionism". So don't tell me that the Arabs are blameless in all of this, or that they have some kind of "right" to the spoils of the Ottoman Empire. They don't. That right was won by the blood and treasure of the British and French, who defeated the Ottomans. If they owe anything to the Arabs, it might be the Hashemites who attempted to foster the "great Arab revolt" against the Turks (ala Lawrence of Arabia). And in defeating the Ottoman's they had every right to determine how to carve up its holdings into Kingdoms and States.. And Palestine is NOT Arabia. Arabia is Arabia. Arabs living outside of Arabia are the descendants of conquerors and THEY ARE THE FOREIGNERS. So don't tell me they don't have the "ability" to accept a small little piddly state known as Israel living in their midst. Just let them be, and focus on developing their own economies and internal advancement and QUIT "BARKING" ABOUT KILLING THE "SNAKE" IN THEIR MIDST. That snake just wants to be left alone. But mess with it, and all the barking dogs are going to pay the price. Hawk
