there is the arab persian thing which one day would rear its ugly head when shiaa arabs began to feel like second class citizens to their persian co-religionists. I think at the outset of the war, iraqi shiaa were for the most part were pretty determined not to let iraq become a protectorate of iran. Today with players as diverse as sistani, al sadr/mahdi army, badi?? brigades etc., i dont know if we can be sure how subservient a shiaa iraq state whether whole or divided would be.

Perhaps we could make each Shia vote only count 3/5, as we used to do for the slaves, or at least the slave OWNERS, in this country?
