OK, the first two sentences of your post are contradictory. why easily obtainable FISA warrants is about why Bush didn't use FISA. Yes, people are arguing that Dubyette's program --- as far as we can see --- goes against the fourth ammendment. Dubya's words weren't poor, they accurately reflect what has been happening. 911 happened, Dubya overthrew Saddam. Two unconnected events married together for political purposes in a very cynical and deadly manner. If Dubya had gotten OBL early on, AQ may not have morphed and spread. It's difficult to say but OBL running around the world for the last 5 years has provided inspiration to those who would be him. Dubya made a big deal out of al Zarqawi. So he wants the deputy but not the chief. Why is that? You can appease these people as much as you like. It's a free country. I'm sure that there were people much like yourself watching the rise of Hitler and thinking...well, he's the government so we should follow him. The children of those people kept asking them...why didn't you do something?
