Now you're simply tying yourself into knots. The explanation of why they went around the law was that the law would in some way or ways hamper their fight against terrorism. This doesn't make any sense since FISA doesn't hamper them and since they declined Congress' suggestion to change FISA. In other words they are lying. Your love of secrecy in government dealings is quite stunning. The Soviets would love you. You give a full pass to the Bush administration on FISA because you claim that we don't know things but yet you are pretty darn sure that there would have been no effect on AQ if OBL had been caught or killed quickly after 911. Why is that? History doesn't repeat itself but it sure does echo.
