Some of the same folks that founded companies such as Ultra Petroleum and Falcon Oil & Gas are behind Exxel and some of those people plus other insiders control big chunks of the stock that obviously they don’t want to sell or at least not yet! We met with the new team that has been brought into manage the company today and investment bank-type Cliff Adams is the new President and CEO, while Michael Lou does the financing and CFO business with Victor Barcot doing investor relations and they are involved in three plays. In the Piceance Basin where companies such as EnCana (ECA), who have spend a billion dollars over the last two years, Bill Barrett (BBG) and Williams (WMB) have spent between them almost $1.2 million and where Marathon Oil (MRO) is buying big on a $350 million transaction, Exxel might have 400 to 600 well locations on this play…….if it works out. But why you are watching Exxel is because of the potential of the Washington State Basin Centered Gas play. There are a lot of us who respect the work of Eric Sprott of Sprott Securities and one of his biggest holdings over the last while has been Delta Petroleum (DPTR) because of their enormous holdings in the Washington State play. With drilling by EnCana and Delta Petroleum, over the next while to prove or disprove that this is another one of those huge gas plays, little Exxel (which does have a fairly large market cap right now) and with 300,000 acres in the play, should this play work out could be one of the stories of the day……… David Pescod 780-408-1750 Debbie Lewis 780-408-1748 Sandra Wicks 780-408-1749 Page 2 If you would like to receive the Late Edition, just e-mail Debbie at debbie_lewis@canaccord.com
