re: Did they really think that an indigenous resistance could actually be defeated? I'm sure they did. And I don't think they ever looked at the worst case scenarios. It appears they are looking at them now, way too late as that looks like how it is going to play out.

President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney have been extremely disappointed by Israel's failure to defeat Hezbollah I wish they'd start focusing more on domestic issues. That way they might do less damage.
