Getting off Arab oil is all-important. Why do you think we're spending a trillion dollars and so many US lives in Iraq? Arab oil. Mexican oil or Canadian oil we don't fight wars over.

Getting off Arab oil completely is only possible now with a progressive government, that means a democratic congress for starters. Plus either a democrat of green-friendly GOP moderate in the White House. Otherwise we will stay stuck in the muck or even go backwards.
