Drop the idea of competition and try to force everything in to a non-competitive framework and the world will be worse for it.

Don't worry about it. We will always have museums and time capsules to remind us what it was like in the old days.

There will be videos preserving beauty pageants when one beautiful person wins and thus making the rest of us losers.

Does it mean that without the idea of competition, we can not try to skate or dance as gracefully as we can, run the marathon to beat our personal best, study as hard as we can to become the best tenor, poet, architect, writer, mathematician, physicist, or brick layer that we can be?
