I agree with what you're saying.

What I dislike is dishonesty. This doesn't mean that people should be labelled losers. However,if a standard has not been met, the person--or child--needs to know that so that s/he can learn and improve.

I remember an episode from my own childhood which stuck with me, causing many a chuckle.

I was either in nursery school or kindergarten.

The teacher had evidently told us that we learn from our mistakes. Good message.

Well, there was another little girl in my class who was one of those who seemed to be perfect at everything.

Armed with the teacher's comments, I proclaimed to her:

We learn from our mistakes. Since you are perfect and never make mistakes, you'll NEVER learn.

LOL. Flawed logic but there's a lesson in there:-)
